Happy Spring! This lino-cut "block print" is inspired by the Germanic myth of the Goddess Ostara who finds a bird with frozen wings and transforms it into a rabbit who retains its ability to lay beautiful eggs. This version and others blend together to create the modern idea of the Easter Bunny or Hare known today. The hare is also a nocturnal animal and, in many cultures, has close associations with the moon and the lunar calendar. 

This is an original, limited-edition, hand-pressed print on watercolor paper created by our Studio Artist James Karlson.
