About The Event
Open to high school students on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
This free three-day camp held at Studio Waveland empowers students to conceptualize, design, and build their own glass and steel sculptures, including opportunities for hands-on welding experience. Part of the Museum’s Public Art Enterprise program, this camp is led by Museum educators and artist Erica Larkin Gaudet of Studio Waveland. Not only will students leave with their own tabletop steel and glass sculpture, but they’ll help prototype ideas that will be ultimately executed in a large-scale installation at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art.
Activities fuse concepts such as design, environment, recreation, STEM education, and community placemaking.
*Students and caregivers will be asked to sign waivers for participation in this camp.
