About The Event

Update: THIS OPPORTUNITY IS SOLD OUT.

National Geographic Photo Camp is working on a series of projects in the United States that focus on geography education and the ways in which communities are connected. The Walter Anderson Museum of Art is helping to host this Photo Camp in Ocean Springs, MS from Tuesday, May 23 - Saturday, May 27, 2023.

During this programming, students will explore the geographic and cultural landscapes of the coast. They will work together to tell unique stories and share individual ideas about geographic and cultural connectedness using the power of storytelling.

Photo Camp is an outreach program of National Geographic Society, so no tuition is required. Student lodging, meals, and all necessary equipment for the workshop will be provided by National Geographic, including cameras for the duration of the camp. The workshop will be taught by National Geographic Explorers and photographers, and we are looking to bring together 20 students aged 16-22 who are interested in photography, storytelling, and geography education. These students can come from across subject area and field of study.

All lodging, meals, and many of the classroom activities will be provided on the campus of The University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf Coast Research Laboratory in Ocean Springs, MS.

You can see recent stories created by Photo Camp students on @ngphotocamp.
