Paper-Making with Barbra Ery: Beginner + Intermediate Level

Enjoy the opportunity to learn from an expert about the history of hand papermaking and how to make your own paper! This is an informative hands-on workshop focused specifically on the process of making paper from start to finish. Students will first learn about preparing fiber, then refining, forming, and finally pressing the pulp into sheets that will then need time to dry completely before use. No previous experience is necessary; pre-registration is required and all materials and supplies are included in the cost of this workshop.

Barbara “Scout” Ery is a visual artist and educator. She received a BFA in Photography from Ohio University, and later received a Masters of Art Education from the University of Central Florida. Her artwork is currently being showed at the Sharon Weiss Gallery in Columbus, Ohio. She resides in Athens, OH and has embraced the beauty of living, creating and thriving in Appalachia.

Cost: $50 per person; $40 members.
