Cemetery Plein Air with James Karlson

The Bayou Collection by George Rodrigue explores the character of the southern landscape through ghost-like memories of myths and familial imagery. These plein air sessions will allow participants to practice viewing the landscape through a similar lens with instruction from WAMA educator, James Karlson. Participants will visit local cemeteries in Ocean Springs, Biloxi, and D’Iberville to develop their own unique perspective and style of plein air drawing. We hope you will join us as we explore and celebrate the beauty of these historic Southern cemeteries through art.

$10 per session for nonmembers and $5 for members. 

Minimal materials will be available while supplies last, so please come prepared with your preferred tools to make art! Some recommended supplies to consider would be a standing easel, a folding chair or stool, a drawing board, a hat, paper or canvas, and drawing tools.
