Book Club Under the Boat - Catfish Dream

This monthly book club reads and discusses a changing selection of books connected to the natural world and the philosophies of Walter Anderson. It meets in the galleries beneath Walter’s suspended row boat, and is regularly attended by WAMA volunteers and members of the Anderson family. “This is a faithful group,” says Mary Anderson Pickard, the artist’s daughter. “We have faith that the boat won’t fall on our heads.” The WAMA Book Club began in 2011 and has studied more than thirty titles since that time, including every known publication about Walter Inglis Anderson and a variety of other titles. This month, the book club begins its discussion of Catfish Dream, named a Top Ten Food Book of 2018 by Smithsonian Magazine, written by WAMA director Julian Rankin. Cost: Free to the public.
