About The Event
This monthly book club reads and discusses a changing selection of books connected to the natural world and the philosophies of Walter Anderson. It meets in the galleries beneath Walter’s suspended row boat, and is regularly attended by WAMA volunteers and members of the Anderson family. “This is a faithful group,” says Mary Anderson Pickard, the artist’s daughter. “We have faith that the boat won’t fall on our heads.”
The WAMA Book Club began in 2011 and has studied more than thirty titles since that time, including every known publication about Walter Inglis Anderson and a variety of other titles. This month, the book club has its final discussion of Catfish Dream, named a Top Ten Food Book of 2018 by Smithsonian Magazine, written by WAMA director Julian Rankin.
Cost: Free to the public
The Museum and its programs are supported in part by the City of Ocean Springs and Jackson County. Support is also provided in part by funding from the Mississippi Arts Commission, a state agency, and in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Free for members; free ages 5 and under; free to shop
*We are a Blue Star Museum. Free Admission for active and retired military families (up to 5 family members) valid annually from Armed Forces day to Labor Day.
