About The Event
Are you interested in becoming a museum docent?
The Museum's Education Department is making a call for docents and inviting those interested to the Docent Training Program. This 4-day training provides an immersive foundation into becoming a docent at the Museum. Over the course of this training program, each session will cover tours of various exhibitions, understanding the Museum’s Permanent Collection, detailed exercises, volunteer benefits, and end with an evaluation.
During evaluations, individuals will be required to give a short tour with one of the Museum's educators and pass a written test to be qualified as a trained docent. If accepted into the Docent Program, individuals can expect to visit new exhibitions prior to giving a tour of it and attend periodic training when new information becomes available from the Education Department as a requirement to maintain docent status.
Sessions will begin at the Courtney Blossman Art Cottage and travel across the Museum's campus during the remaining sessions as necessary.
