Book a Group Tour to WAMA Today!
Visit the Walter Anderson Museum of Art (WAMA) in historic Ocean Springs, MS, for an enchanting and memorable experience. Learn about the artistic lives of Walter, Peter, and Mac Anderson and how their art is a wonderful representation of the natural Coast environment.
Located 80 miles east of New Orleans and 60 miles west of Mobile, AL, Ocean Springs is a superb destination. In addition to WAMA, Ocean Springs offers an array of fine galleries, restaurants, and shops.
We offer docent led tours of our galleries, a film about the life of Walter Anderson and shopping in our Museum Store.

Monday - Saturday, 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Sunday 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM
Closed: New Year's Day, Mardi Gras, Easter Sunday, Independece Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
Walter Anderson Museum of Art Tour Guidelines
We can accommodate up to 60 guests at a time. Special arrangements can be made for larger groups, but please keep in mind that the tour will take more time for larger numbers.
- HOURS: 9:30 AM until 4:30 PM
- RATES:
- Group rates apply to 10 or more guests.
- If tour participants are paying individually, all money should be collected prior to arrival, presented as one form of payment and paid upon arrival for tour.
- Schools may submit a School PO for payment and we will bill you. School PO's are payable upon receipt of billing. Please mail, fax or bring PO with you.
- On student tours, one chaperone per 10 students is required.
- THE FILM about the life of Walter Anderson is helpful to orient visitors to the art they are seeing. It is recommended for adults and students in the 4th grade and above.
- AN ART ACTIVITY (such as seek and find, printing from a linoleum block, or other activity) is available for student tours.
- THE MUSEUM STORE is stocked with something for everyone. It also has items especially for kids such as books, educational toys, and art supplies. The prices range from $1 and up; only 10 children will be allowed in the shop at one time.
- SCHEDULING: Tours should be scheduled at least two weeks in advance, if possible. (Please call (228) 872-3164 ext. 108. or e-mail tours@walterandersonmuseum.org if there is a cancellation or if the tour group will be more than 30 minutes late.)
